Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 2 racks of pork baby back ribs (4 lbs)
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup of brown sugar
- (Optional): 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
2. In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of paprika, 1 tablespoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of onion powder, 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper, and 1 teaspoon of chili powder.
3. Rinse the ribs and pat them dry with paper towels. Sprinkle the ribs with salt and pepper on both sides, and then rub in the spice mixture evenly.
4. Line a baking sheet with foil and place the ribs on top, making sure that each rib is lying flat. Cover the ribs with another sheet of foil and crimp the edges together to seal in the moisture.
5. Bake for 2 hours at 350°F. After 2 hours, remove the top sheet of foil and brush on some barbecue sauce. Bake for an additional 30 minutes uncovered.
6. Remove the ribs from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

The origins of Barbecue Ribs
Barbecue ribs have been a favorite barbecue dish for centuries. The history of ribs dates back to the Native Americans who cooked their meat over an open fire. They used wood chips, herbs, and other ingredients to create a unique flavor.
In the 18th century, European settlers brought their own version of ribs to the United States. This version was cooked with a dry rub and cooked slowly over indirect heat. This technique is still used today and is the basis of most modern barbecue rib recipes.
Today, ribs are a popular dish at backyard barbecues and restaurants alike. They are typically cooked with a variety of seasonings, sauces, and rubs to create a delicious and flavorful meal. No matter the style, barbecue ribs are sure to be a hit!
