Ingredients (Serves 4)

    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground oregano
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans in chili sauce
    • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
    • 2 tablespoons tomato paste

Method

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add 1 chopped onion and 2 cloves of minced garlic, and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.

3. Add 1 pound of ground beef and cook until it is no longer pink, about 8 minutes, stirring to break up the meat.

4. Add 1 tablespoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of cumin, ½ teaspoon of oregano, ½ teaspoon of paprika and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Stir to combine.
