Challenge taken up Professor Cat! Here is the solution

Do you think you can crack this brain teaser? Let’s find out!

The result of the last equation is 16 because:

  • The sum of the 3 identical cats is 30 so a cat is worth 10.
  • The addition of one cat plus two identical babies is worth 20 so these two babies are worth 10 so one baby is worth 5.
  • This same baby added to two identical pacifiers is worth 9. So the two pacifiers are worth 4, so 2 for one pacifier.

Now for the final equation: we have a cat, a pacifier and a baby. But is it the same baby? Look closely.

He doesn’t have his pacifier like the ones in the previous lines! So we had to take away the value of the pacifier from the baby: 10 + 2 x (5-2) = 10 + 2 x 3 = 10 +6 = 16
